Our Story

Our vision at Creative Expressions started over seven years ago, Beth was a single mother of three looking for an additional income without having to leave her home. When she started our staple class “Girls Night Out” she was working out of her house and hosting classes at local restaurants or going to customer’s houses. Fast forward four years when a mutual friend introduced us at a local winery during one of Beth’s “Girls Night Out” class. There was an instant connection between the two of us. Ever since our friendship started we have been inseparable, spending every day together working on orders dreaming where the business could take us.

Creating unique work for all our customers to experience is something that brings us a lot of joy. On April 1, 2016, we rolled out the red carpet for all our customers to have a home for “Girls Night Out.” Opening our brick and mortar shop has been the best business decision if we said it had been easy that would be a lie. We now host weekly vinyl board classes with once a month teen class to help provide a safe place for them to go on Friday nights. Along with vinyl board classes, we have a Young Living Consultant who teaches monthly make and take classes for the novice essential oil follower to the avid essential oil user. Creative Expressions offers a wide range of hands-on experiences from classes, private parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and children’s birthday parties. All classes are a flat fee, which includes all supplies and instructor guided step by step instructions from raw material to a personalized creation you can gift or hang in your home.
Creative Expressions also offers its own line of custom t-shirts in store for customers to purchase. We produce custom designed t-shirts to fit individuals, groups, and sports team’s needs.

At the end of the day, our focus is to give back to the community. As our business continues to grow we’re working towards finding a bigger space for Creative Expressions. We are excited to be the first arts and craft store serving the Wyandotte and Leavenworth and surrounding areas. As sales increase more employees are needed to keep up with demands. Our goal when hiring is to provide motivated women going through difficult situations job opportunities to help them get back on their feet. We are active in the community networking with local nonprofit organizations through Wyandotte Women Giving Society, The KCK Women Chamber of Commerce, and Business and Professional Women.

We are so fortunate to be a small business that started in Kansas City! Over the last year, we have experienced a huge growth and we owe it all to our amazing customers and community that supports the small business community.
